It’s that time of year for our annual Take 5: Walk, Run, Block virtual event and registration is now open. Take 5: Walk, Run, Block is where members and supporters will walk or run a 5k race or make quilt blocks to create Quilts of Valor! To date, we have awarded over 400,000 Quilts of Valor across the United States with over 38,000 quilts awarded each year.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, but you can participate any time during the week leading up to that date, with your choice of race activity. The event’s culmination, on Flag Day, is a day to celebrate patriotism, and those people who have sacrificed so much to protect our US flag.

From June 8 – 14, you can choose how you would like to participate in Take 5; from coordinating a 5k in your neighborhood, to walking five blocks, to organizing a Sew Day to make quilt blocks, the flexibility of this virtual event creates an opportunity for you to be involved in whatever way works best for you.

For Quilts of Valor Foundation members, you can even use this event as a way to raise funds for your group, by collecting pledges for number of miles, minutes, or quilt blocks.

Participate with your pet: We are excited to announce that this year you can participate in Walk, Run, Block, WOOF, by including your furry friends in the event.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR QOV GROUP: Each group member can register as a race participant. You can also create a Team at registration, and your group members can join the team as they register. You can inform your members of the Team name so they can select it.

HOW TO CREATE A TEAM or JOIN A TEAM: Once you select Register, you will be able to create a team or join a team.

HOW TO FUNDRAISE FOR YOUR GROUP: On the Member dashboard under Fundraising: QOVF Take 5, you can use the Take 5 flyer to solicit pledges and donations for your groups.
